<<Warp, a day or two more like this and my new, super-short-term Augieboo Scalpometer will be giving an ST buy signal. What's your system saying? >>

Hi Augie! Do you have a scalp system now?? Your previous system waited for reversal in combination with a spikedown on your internal indicator, if I recall.

Um, my model had a buy today, at least the first laddered entry. I am in at 84% long (out of 200%) via the Profunds Ultra OTC fund (was 100% cash). After the close, the model said to do a 95% long position, but since I needed to phone in my order 10 minutes before close, sometimes the entry level changes a little in the final minutes.
Under normal conditions, the first laddered entry would not be so high as 95%, but due to the bullish market conditions of late, I have some trend indicators that scaled up the buy point.

Re: the guru's. That board that WLD set up showed me that Jerry Olsen and "Jenna" are self proclaimed guru's. I would like to know who the others are. I had never heard of Jenna before, and Jerry Olsen I've read a few of his posts in the past. The dude comes off sounding omniscient, but I didn't find him to be rude or belittling. I remember some post of his where he stated that he was a master level market technician, one grade below Zeev. I about fell off my chair laughing. I didn't know that there were such ratings. What body out there is the determinor of such ratings and how does one get tested or certified???

I tend to think that anyone who relies too heavily on these guru's is ultimately destined to lose all their money. These people evidently need the continuous action (i.e. have compulsive gambling tendencies), are looking for big payoffs, and are too lazy to learn anything themselves. Point them to a subscription timing service like "The Timing Cube" and that ilk, and these people would not be pleased with "only" 5% per month returns and infrequent once-in-a-couple-weeks trading of index funds. But Jeez, look at all the bookmarks that Jerry and Jenna have!!

Edit: I am not pushing the "Timing Cube". I looked at their web site but I am not a subscriber. I do subscribe to one similar service where for $99 per year I get next day buys and sells for the major indices. I use it mostly to validate my own model.
