You sound a heck of a lot more knowledgeable than me with regard to the technology on the MedRecycler. Is it correct to assume it is `a pyrolysis based system? If so, my understanding is pyrolysis is an energy consuming process - more energy has to be put in to treat the waste than can actually be recovered. If true, How is it possible for it to be sustainable? I thought that whenever there is energy transfer some quantity must always be lost to a system’s surroundings through inefficiencies etc.

Also, can you shed any light on this tweet - “MedRecycler’s facility will generate enough renewable energy to power over one thousand homes annually in an environmentally friendly way.” I assume this is a projected calculation since the facility appears to not be operating as yet. But isn’t it diesel powered to generate heat etc. Would appreciate any guidance you could provide in understanding the renewal portion of the output. Tia.

My opinions as always.

Ps. Trying to understand the technology. Any referral to papers written on this subject would also be appreciated.
