ignorant – 1: lacking knowledge and education in general or in a specific subject – 2: unaware of something – 3:caused by a lack of understanding or experience

The above is the definition of ignorant. If one cannot distinguish another’s ability on whether they are ignorant because they either believe that man has only been on this earth for under 10,000 years or that aliens landed on this planet and changed the DNA of man then maybe that person should take some more science courses to educate oneself. Calling a group of people or a person ignorant is not like calling them stupid. Stupid cannot be rectified. Plus who said I would cut myself off from discussing other topics with them.

Using the word “ignorant” really has nothing to do with a “view” on calling one ignorant. It has everything to do with a misunderstanding of “facts” or a lack of knowledge of the individual or group about a subject.

I suppose under your supposition the group of people that all killed themselves thinking that there was a spaceship hidden behind the moon and it would come down and resurrect them would not be classified as ignorant under your thinking but it sure would under mine.
