I do not get around much on IHUB and do not know these people you speak of other than Jerry Olsen. If you could point me to some threads where I can observe this dialog, then I will provide better input.

In general, if a guru wanted to get subscribers, he should be able to produce a track record. I would settle for a record of trades announced in advance and then posted on one of these threads. Furthermore, the trades must be posted in a manner that a subscriber could easily duplicate the trades. None of this "Just shorted the Q's at 34.77", whereas soon as you look, the Q's are at 34.50. I would like to see someome posting at 1530 EST that he plans to short the Q's at the close. Or in the evening announce that the next morning he is going long the SPX.

To summarize, the guru needs to have:

1) a verifiable track record. A message board will do
2) A subscriber wannabee would need to be able to easily duplicate the trades of the guru
3) Guru must exhibit professionalism at all times
