Thanks for the praise for managing above and beyond, but, the owner of our company is a buffoon. He's lucky the lights are still on. It doesn't change the fact EVERY BUSINESS we deal with from vendor to customer has experienced shutdowns of some sort. In fact...
Manufacturing did indeed suffer a slowdown. Many many raw material plants were furloughed which caused supply chain issues with many manufacturers. Distribution companies and almost all warehouses are battling shortages.
Not to mention the ongoing, and complete, blackout of PPE getting to certain industries. There are many laborers who work with toxic chemicals daily who are suffering through their jobs without protective equipment. They need a paycheck and have to continue to work no matter the cost.
Long term health damage TBD.
So, when I just left it at "retail" I was kind of being polite. But, now you can see the full effects on the things which are not being represented properly by your post.
EVERYTHING has been affected! So, to say KBLB is sitting around doing nothing while others are working, is quite disingenuous considering they rely on those others who are having difficulties of their own. We may be working, but, it's not at the same capacity. And, it's definitely not supplying everyone with everything they need. Nor receiving everything we need to supply those others. Truckers and Trucking Companies are cherry-picking routes which is creating a greater logistical bottleneck than most realize.
I can't even fathom what newly-established and trying-to-establish companies are going through. We have long-standing vendor relationships that don't mean squat these days because EVERYONE is affected by Covid!
What was the point again?
