While I can agree with what you're saying, I find it hard to understand why anyone chooses procedures that pollute in any way when cleaner alternatives exist, or may be developed that add little to cost, or may actually increase profit over time.

I believe it's possible to reprocess trash and sewage to the point that for the most part usable products can be retrieved. Yes it costs to create the process, but once developed it becomes a profit center.

I know places where sewage is reprocessed, the water retrieved is safe enough to drink, but rather than doing that, it's put into agricultural usage so as to not turn off the public users. The solids can be made into fertilizers, and other products, very little is totally wasted.

Why would anyone want a car that polluted more and performed less, one drive in a Tesla would convince most people that it will outperform 98% of the petroleum based products available. Why would anyone lower the mileage and pollution level automakers must achieve, especially when the automakers say they can meet the numbers. Likewise, why would anyone permit dumping into streams when wastes can be recovered and potentially recycled.

I just don't know why anyone fights doing things in a better manner, especially if there are incentives to do it, and potentially doing so can create many jobs.

On the subject of PSTI, we're up substantially today, anyone know why?
