Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) — also known as a nosocomial infection are transmitted within a healthcare facility from patient to patient. It can be spread throughout the hospital environment, nursing home environment, rehabilitation facility, clinic, or other clinical settings resulting in a 35 billion dollar a year problem.
