Te real tragedy is that the "RW hyperbole and hysteria" targeting the fear factor could win the election for Trump again.

"No way am I stating that violence and murder are acceptable.
Just fed up with the RW hyperbole and hysteria that broad brushes entire cities.
"

The fact that you were put into a position to have to say that sucks. It's the toxic
atmosphere Trump has created. And the fact so many still apologize for him.

Trump and the Politics of ‘Mean World’
A four-day showing of apocalypse now.

Mean world thrives on fear and perpetuates itself by exaggerating fear. Its rhetorical ploy is catastrophizing and its tone is apocalyptic. The Democrats are not just wrong, many speakers asserted this week, they are “subverting our republic,” abolishing the suburbs, destroying Western civilization and establishing a Castro-style communist dictatorship. The Democrats, Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida said, want to “disarm you, empty the prisons, lock you in your home and invite MS-13 to live next door.”

Fear may be as old as life on Earth. It is a fundamental, deeply wired reaction, evolved over the history of biology, to protect organisms against perceived threat to their integrity or existence. Fear may be as simple as a cringe of an antenna in a snail that is touched, or as complex as existential anxiety in a human.

Whether we love or hate to experience fear, it’s hard to deny that we certainly revere it – devoting an entire holiday to the celebration of fear.

That shit could work again. Throw in some dirty tricks and it very well could again swing it.

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
