I had the same fear of being out when something big happened so I actually did it in halves. Sold half my shares (to lock in capital losses), waited for the wash rule and bought them back and then repeated with the other half. It took longer to complete but I was never totally out.
Good luck to all long term longs. I believe we are on the path to recoup losses and possibly even make some gains
