I would be fine if they didn't release any PR's and just quietly uplisted after having an audit done. Let the PPS go to sub-penny. Just wait a few months and don't say a single word. If investigators come just let them see that they are legitimate and once they prove legitimacy they should order the investigators to STFU and let the true longs emerge.
Then, when audits are complete, EDGARS updated and uplist complete go ahead and give the longs some good news with a PR that makes sense.
