Disturbing report and even more disturbing is trying to fact check the story and source. As a journalism major more than 20 years ago we quickly learned of the depth of corruption and control of US media - 90% of ALL US media are owned by one of 5 or 6 major media monopolies - a fact that continues today. There is no better way to control the narrative of any given subject than by controlling the number of "voices in the marketplace" thru monopolization.
Sadly, I thought publications like the Lancet and NEJM were beyond the tentacles of corporate control, so reading these accusations is unsettling to say the least. But as the science of disinformation grows more complex, it becomes even harder to sort out the BS from fact, so trying to verify these allegations as fact is about as easy as finding a treatment for Covid-19. On the one hand, Health Impact News gets many horrible reviews from reliable fact-checkers - anywhere from being called a conspiracy rag to being a consistently dishonest source:

And this, among many negative reviews: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/health-impact-news/
These reviews alone should send any fact-seeker on a major mission to validate anything these people publish. From some of the articles attributed to them it's easy to see why their credibility is in the toilet.
On the other hand, we have a highly rated fact check site called STAT, reporting on the apparently shady behavior of Surgisphere, regarding transparency of statistics they possess, from the allegedly poor showing of HCQ in the trials alluded to - https://www.statnews.com/2020/06/04/lancet-retracts-major-covid-19-paper-that-raised-safety-concerns-about-malaria-drugs/
Here is a report on STAT from the same source who gave the "conspiracy" rating for HIN: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/stat-news/
It's such a complex and twisted mess, ascertaining facts and truth in reporting today and the credibility of related sources is something that used to come a lot easier to a former journalist like myself; today it's a shell game played by whores, sell-outs and con artists that leaves the public flummoxed beyond hope.
Factor in the power and control that BP has over not only the FDA, but nearly every elected official and appointee from trump on down to HOR member #535, their collection of aides, staff and public mouthpieces
to boot and you begin to see how the road to FDA approval for LL is custom-built minefield created to ensure that the path requires a well-placed escort to reach the final destination. I'm convinced we need a BP partnership to succeed.
Whether or not HCQ is a victim of corporate manipulation is hard to figure with what we know. One would think that foreign govts would be beyond FDA/US profit-motive influence; but if our govt is willing to blatantly and openly coerce foreign govts for small stakes like punishing Julian Assange or remain allies with a govt that murders US reporters for revenge without consequence, among other concessions to money and power, there's no question they'd flip the globe on its axis for the windfall a Covid tx would bring. It's tragically ironic that one of our leading MSM outlets (WaPo or MSNBC, I think) use the old adage "Democracy Dies in Darkness" as their motto while delivering pro-corporate news stories that shade and distort the facts to protect their advertisers and allies. Bias in media? Their real motto should be, "You can bias (buy us) out for a nominal price to report the news any way you like."
