Apparently I am the only one that did read it...nowhere does it say that “all interest on collateral is cancelled”.
LMAO.
What it does say is this:
Eventually, the broker will declare a total loss on the loaned stock. At that point, the broker cancels the short seller's debt and returns all collateral.
Which is exactly what I am saying...the broker can only declare a “total loss” when the stock is cancelled.
