BONNEVILLE, OR—A record 45,884 migrating chinook salmon surged past Oregon's Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River earlier this month. Officials say this year's run is about four times larger than usual and could reach 900,000--more than 50 percent higher than fishery managers forecasted. The last run this big occurred in 1948.
