Good post that I'm in overall agreement with since I expect multiple grants for both lab work and clinical work. Also agree we could see publications coming up too. It's great having 2 US RBL's doing the testing for us. We won't be seeing anyone questioning the results.

The other things I'd add to your post follow in no particular order.

News of Brilacidin OM deal with a large pharma.

News of Alfasigma testing on UP since Italy is getting back to normal.

News of additional grants applied for once we get more data.

News of a free clinical trial at a hospital hit hard with covid where we only supply drug.

News of a surprise nature that none of us even think to anticipate.

I bought more this morning.

Good luck all.... Karin ;)

Inovio has had a relationship with DoD for years. It got a grant for MERS vaccine from DoD in 2016. DARPA gave them Ebola money in 2015. It definitely helps to have a good working relationship and prior funding. Just like in academia, if you have gotten grants from NIH in the past, you look like a stronger candidate for a current grant application.

It's good that IPIX is working with a RBL, since people in government agencies generally know other people in government and how to get funds. Perhaps somewhat of an inside scoop.

We still don't know if the grant application is for further preclinical work or trials too (I imagine and hope it is for trials, but RBL won't be running any clinical trials I don't think), and who is the funding agency. Perhaps there is more than one grant application, and Leo is talking with multiple potential funding sources. Preclinical grant will be for maybe <$2M, and I would think Phase II trial would be on the order of $10M for a moderate sized trial (200-400 subjects including placebo 2:1).

We also don't know status of possible upcoming trials with FDA, including what might be required to submit an IND for brilacidin in Covid-19 (in terms of any further preclinical work), and preliminary outlines of a trial - size, cost, etc...

Not anticipating news too quickly, but hoping with this last set of results things are moving faster than before. I have a feeling the first thing we will see is a pre-print publication of preclinical work. We don't know if the preclinical work is finished yet, or what is the status of the manuscripts. Hopefully those manuscripts will come out soon so we can learn some more about brilacidin's antiviral properties against CoVs. That should stoke more interest in the science, the stock, and getting funding we need to get into trials.
