Maybe I'm out of place here, but it seems that what LR is asking is something like "what was that thing in that "comparator culture" that was unable to bring that dangerous virus under control? Was it nothing at all? A mild viral sedative? jk A cough syrup? jk A strong, but clearly ineffective viricide?
When stating that B is 97% stronger than "whatever" was used in the control group, it seems fair to ask what the control was. I'm sure it will be revealed in the peer-review articles.
