WSTG...Pretty big news here...Remember this from the cc??..."But there's been a couple of brands that we picked up here in even the last 30 days that we think are going to be impactful a year out from now. And a lot of it are companies like Liqid, which is a composable architecture hardware platform. We just inked that contract here within 10 days. And we see a tremendous amount of upside in the differentiation they have in the market. So I would say Liqid is one of the ones that's actually fairly new that we're just beginning the onboarding process on."
News on Liqid may be one of the reasons WSTG's share price has held strong the past couple weeks.
Liqid Teams up with AMD, Dell to Deliver One-Socket Storage Rack Servers
May 14, 2020
BROOMFIELD, Colo., May 14, 2020 — Liqid, provider of the composable infrastructure platform, announced that it has worked with AMD and Dell Technologies OEM | Embedded and Edge Solutions to deliver the fastest one-socket storage rack servers in the market. Liqid’s composable Gen-4 PCI-Express (PCIe) fabric technology, the LQD4500, is coupled with the AMD EPYC 7002 Series Processors, and enclosed in Dell Technologies’ industry-leading Dell EMC PowerEdge R7515 Rack Server to deliver an architecture designed for the most demanding next-generation, AI-driven HPC application environments. The company published the performance results in a new white paper available for download here...

“It’s undeniable that new data-intensive workloads, including artificial intelligence and edge computing, will increasingly rely on automation if they are to run efficiently while hiding some of the complexity. The current generation of static hardware can be limiting for these workloads without massive over-provisioning,” John Abbott, Cofounder and Systems Infrastructure Analyst at 451 Research, part of S&P Global’s Market Intelligence division. “AI, deep learning and other new workloads require the integration of new infrastructure to support them.”
The optimized platform from Liqid, Dell Technologies, and AMD empowers users to deploy server systems with the highest compute and storage performance for core data centers as workflows and business needs constantly scale. The combined elements feature:
The Dell EMC PowerEdge R7515 Server Rack is a single-socket 2U server designed to handle workloads like software-defined storage, virtualization, and data analytics;
The AMD EPYC 7002 Series Processors brings together up to 64 cores, 4TB memory capacity, support for eight channels of DDR4-3200 memory, and 128 lanes of PCIe Gen 4.0 I/O per socket;
The Liqid Element LQD4500 PCIe Add-In-Card (AIC), is full-height-3/4-length (FH3/4L) NVMe storage solution, with up to 30.8TB capacity and extreme performance for mission critical and performance-demanding workloads delivering over 24GBs and 3M IOPS.
LQD4500 SSD Performance Test Results on Dell R7515 with AMD EPYC 7002:
Rnd Rd (4KB): 3.1M IOPS
Rnd Wrt (4KB): 961K IOPS
Seq Rd (128KB): 24.5 GB/s
Seq Wrt (128KB): 10.1 GB/s
The Liqid Element LQD4500’s innovative design enables multiple drive configurations ranging from maximum performance to maximum redundancy. The LQD4500 also features enterprise-class power failure protection for increased reliability to prevent data loss and ensure uninterrupted work in case of power failure.
“In high-computational environments, the more compute power you can pack into a single node, the more accurate your results will be, and the more quickly those results can be implemented in the real world,” said Sumit Puri, CEO & Cofounder, Liqid. “We are proud to collaborate with industry leaders like Dell Technologies and AMD to provide adaptive architectures for AI and HPC applications to help solve some of the most vexing problems facing businesses and the world.”
