The bigger takeaway for me is GILD's willingness to participate. Both companies have a lot on the line. It's obvious Remsesivir is not a panacea, or these trial would not be held. For all our sakes let's hope and pray that both LERO and REM show efficacy against multiple stages of the virus. HIV patients are accustomed to drug cocktails and it may well be a drug cocktail that will hold the fort until a true COVID-19 vaccine is developed.
