There is no future without problems. Neurosis will always exist as it should. But we are failing as a country on a colossal scale, and we were failing long before this in so many ways. The crazy making part is we seem intent on not only continuing to fail, but escalating our failures.

The mindset that it takes to make a statement like this is at the root of our commitment to fail.

"Dems want to keep the economy shut, so they can steal our wealth. The dems want more government spending on their radical deranged agenda."

It's as if decades of anti intellectual propaganda, and demonization of the other has nullified the individual's curiosity and desire to know anything beyond what is already known. The stunted socialization and growth by the consumers of this propaganda are making them incapable and unfit to live in this world. As a result they become the monstrosities capable of making statements like this without a second thought to how insane the statement actually is. Though the mindset doesn't constitute a majority, its intensity (propped up by an electoral structure subversive to Democrasy) is bringing the whole country down.
