Yep, no guarantees any of these drug candidates that any biotech is developing will ever get into trials, work and be safe in humans, get approved, have lots of sales, and provide a profit for investors.
With NNVC's poor record on progress to date and their new class of drugs with first in man trials, one could easily discount their chances even further.
As we've heard here before though, NNVC's drugs are supposed to be host agnostic, since they are expected to attack viruses outside the cell, and not interact with host cells much. So if they work and are safe in other animals, the same should hold true for use in humans ... they have that going for them. They also have the whole platform concept going for them, theoretically. Another plus is that the concept of nanomolecular virus trap is sound, and has been used successfully in cells and animal models in other viral diseases.
Sadly for investors, NNVC still hasn't gotten their drug candidates with sound scientific concept and preclinical safety and efficacy into human trials to find out if they will help people suffering from viral diseases. But soon perhaps most likely definitely probably maybe.
