Yep, lower wacker is a highway, it hooks to lower michigan and north and south water.
If you know how to use them, you're there in a flash. The pedway is a hidden gem too.
Parking is not what it used to be but I still like to travel beneath the streets. On a nice day the riverwalk is also a good option but normally I have a cartload of tools to unload or push, so I stop at the dock to unload and then go park. Sometimes I can get lucky (or provide enough grease) and they'll let me park right there.
Of course, there're lots of other buildings that aren't hooked to the underground but I use it whenever I can.
I can't wait until we can open her back up. I went to Manny's the other night cuz I had a hankerin' and drove into the loop just to see. It was as dead as a doornail.
The trip from O'Hare that usually would have taken me an hour plus was about ten minutes...
I'm starting to miss the heartbeat of the city, but I understand that if nobody is left with one then the city can't exist.....
edit: nicest day here yet as well, I hope you are out like I should be!!
I'm just exhausted.
