It appears you don't understand history in America. Parties have changed over the years. One of the biggest changes was in 1964 when the Civil Rights law was passed. Naturally more Democrats voted for it and Goldwater a Republican let the vote against it but many Southern Democrats voted against it and many Northern Republicans voted for it. Over the next decades the South went heavily Republicans as Republican politicians fed them those racist dog whistles they wanted to hear.

Look at our current racist, bigoted, rapist, pedophile we have for a POTUS and what states voted for him and the type of people that voted for him while knowing what he is. Is that the type of person you admire?
