Overhead. Simple fact that usually small middlemen such as SLJB can get the product cheaper. Just a dollar per ton difference on 8.4 mil tons...well you do the math. Why don't large builders use Home Depot around here? I used to buy bulk lumber, and I could use a small operation and save as much as 25% over the Big Boys.
