CRAZY - Kansas governor to sue lawmakers who overturned order limiting size of religious gatherings

"This virus is a deadly threat to Republican economic ideology.

Just look at Kansas. It took W nearly eight years to create a recession. Trump took only
three, and we’ll be lucky if it’s only a recession and not the second great depression

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly (D) plans to sue lawmakers who overturned an executive order limiting the size of religious gatherings in the state.

“The last thing I want right now is a legal battle,” Kelly said at a news conference Thursday, according to the Wichita Eagle. “But as I said yesterday, Kansas lives are on the line and I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.”

The order, which capped religious services to 10 people or fewer per recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, was struck down Wednesday by the Republican-majority state legislature. The order built upon a stay-at-home order Kelly declared March 24.

Kelly called their decision “shockingly irresponsible” and an action that will “put every Kansan at risk.”

The potential legal battle comes as millions of Christians around the country prepare to celebrate Easter.

As of Thursday afternoon, Kansas has reported 1,106 confirmed coronavirus cases and 42 deaths.
