If you haven't been vaccinated previously, have no immunocompromised conditions and you're over 65, the CDC recommends the Pneumovax 23 (PV 23).

For adults 19 through 64 Years the CDC recommends Prevnar 13 (PV 13), wait 1 yr and then vaccinate with Pneumoxax 23 (PV 23).

If you are an adult (19-64) who smokes, the CDC recommends Pneumovax 23.

If you are an adult (19-64) with certain medical conditions, administer PCV13 first, then give the PPSV23 dose at least 8 weeks later.
