No not a bad attitude, but you will need room to move at both ends and you will, i'd guess, have to put up
some netting so you're not getting more exercise chasing balls going off the porch than you are playing.

Don't worry, it's a fun game. Looking forward to a report of your first games.

Late thought. If you start slowly, as you should, you won't be smashing it for a while, so you may not need the netting to stop the ball from escaping.
