...Africa is swarming with the Chinese. For over 10 years they have been making claims on minerals and ingratiating themselves with local government (aka payoffs) for sweet deals.

Friends from Liberia and Sierra Leone confirmed that most of the construction in those two countries is done by Chinese companies. My daughter worked for a NGO in Monrovia. (She was hit by truck driven by Chinese construction worker they took her to the hospital to get stitched in her hand.) She left because of the corruption with local government.
My neighbor (U.N. Ambassador from (French) Congo...said "many Chinese in my country"

...and they fly back and forth from China.
