China zero new cases and 3245 deaths to date? Awful but who would have predicted zero new cases 2 weeks ago? Who would have predict this number of deaths 2 weeks ago?

I hope you are not looking at that as some kind of prediction of what will or even can happen in the US. China essentially made a large section of the country into a prison camp where nobody could leave their apartments and held that for weeks and also dramatically curtailed movement within the country.

In stark contrast, in the US you had the guy sitting in the Oval Office serially lying about COVID-19 by telling everyone things were under control, the virus was contained and the virus would magically disappear. Amazingly, the guy in the Oval Office even claimed warnings expressed by Democrats and the media were just a hoax to bring him down. His followers bought that delusional lie hook, line and sinker and it was amplified by Fox "News" along with other right-wing media. That means a large segment of the US population have disregarded the recommendations of the CDC and medical professionals, so consequently will continue to spread the virus.
