The way I look at it is that if my grandparents were asked to go to WW I and deal with the depression, my parents were asked to go to WW II or Korea, my friends and brothers were asked to go to Vietnam and our children went to Iraq or Afghanistan, We should be able to sit on our fat asses for a couple of weeks to control this situation.
Jbog, well put, and you don't have to convince me. Hell, I am way behind in my reading scientific manuscripts. If they closed the research labs I would have plenty of time to do that. I just got an email from a post-doc at Stanford asking for specific reagents that can be used at Stanford Hospital for viral screening. Looks like the academic community is finally being tapped to aid in the ramping up of testing, which is good news. I couldn't help because the kits I have are used for DNA isolation and PCR but you can be sure others will be able to help.
