I looked in to patenting something back in 2004. Me and another friend came up with this great idea to patent a language translation service and try to sell to Verizon at the time. We found some one to back the funding for it too, but none of us had the time for the work that is involved with a patent at the time. I thought back then all you had to do was drop $10K or $20K in an inventors lawyers lap and they would do everything else. Doesn't work that way, but didn't cost any to find out so that project went no-where. Basically it would of been a star service on your cell phone that you would use when calling a foreign country and would automatically translate your language to theirs and visa versa. 16 years later and I'm surprised no one has come up with this by now. 16 years later and this would be easily accomplished with a Google and cell phone app.
Very complicated to get patents, besides just the money a lot of research and time is required. Look how long it is taking for Max's Patent number 16/286,516 to get approved
