Bigworld, Thanks. I was also wondering if you are using HDGE or other short vehicles in addition to gold/miners? I've been (re)thinking about using the inverse S+P 500 ETF (SH) to get my dad's equity exposure down to 20% from the current 25%.

Btw, so far his overall portfolio is only down 1% (0.96%), so not bad, but I'm worried about another big down leg for stocks. Having a big allocation in bonds, gold, and cash has worked well as a hedge so far, but looks like stocks could drop a lot more.
