I wonder if this company, or someone like them would be ideal for sanitizing a ship. I would suspect that based on the size of most living spaces it would take perhaps 10 minutes if that when compared with 20 minutes for a hospital room. With nearly 4000 compartments on many ships that if you had 100 machines the berthing compartments could be done in under 7 hours. Of course larger areas such as dining and recreation areas would take longer, but my point is that with enough resources, a ship could be sanitized in a day. I believe that most ships look to depart one cruise in the morning, and board the next that afternoon, with enough resources and personnel it should be possible. Of course in addition all rooms would need their normal cleaning, linen replacement, etc, but my point is, it wouldn't be cheap, but it would be possible.

Not every ship would need to be sanitized after every cruise, but passengers would gain confidence if in fact they knew the ship would be sanitized, whether anyone on the last cruise was sick, or not. In that we do know infected people can be contagious before they know they're sick, you never can really be certain that the people you cross path with daily who appear well aren't in fact infecting you.

I don't believe that 100 units should be stored on each ship, but rather a company, like ACE could provide such a service as long as ships were scheduled to permit such an operation to move from ship to ship in a timely way. When you think about it, the logistics of turning a ship around in a matter of hours is a pretty amazing task, adding sanitizing might be well within their capabilities as long as the crew is given the appropriate tools.
