PCT LTD ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL HOSPITAL INSTALLATION (Mount Sinai South Nassau Medical Center)
OF ANNIHILYZER® INFECTION CONTROL SYSTEM

Statement from Mount Sinai Health System on Novel Coronavirus
New York, NY (March 02, 2020) “On Saturday, February 29, The Mount Sinai Hospital Emergency Department evaluated a person who had recently traveled to Iran and had mild respiratory symptoms. The appropriate isolation protocols were followed, and the case was reported to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).

On Sunday, March 1, we were informed that the patient had tested presumptively positive for COVID-19. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will perform confirmatory testing.
The patient’s symptoms are mild and do not require hospitalization. The patient is currently under home isolation. Mount Sinai is working closely with the NYSDOH and DOHMH and is prepared to evaluate other possible cases. We will continue to follow strict protocols to protect our patients, our staff, and the public.”

Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital Dr. Aaron Glatt said he was surprised that many residents do not get vaccinated for the flu, and noted that he was also shocked that the hospital’s latest “Truth in Medicine” poll found that nearly half of those polled would not get one for the coronavirus if one were available.

Amid more than 100 Nassau County residents being put in voluntary isolation to be monitored for exposure to the coronavirus and one case being confirmed in Manhattan, Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside released its latest “Truth in Medicine” poll, which focused on the virus.

In Nassau, the residents being monitored have been asked to remain away from people, including their families, for 14 days from the last time they were in China or may have been exposed to the virus. During that time, they will report their symptoms and daily temperature to county health officials.
