Postcard campaign......Let’s get Fan & Fred re-listed!
From the inception of conservatorship in September, 2008 through June, 2010, a period of twenty-two months, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac both continued trading on the NYSE, again, while both were in conservatorship. In June, 2010, Acting FHFA Director Ed DeMarco had both GSEs de-listed, supposedly as a cost-cutting move, but in fact intended to lead to the demise of the two GSEs.
Getting Fan and Fred back on the NYSE can only help smooth the path back to their emergence from conservatorship, at virtually no cost to the Treasury or FHFA.
Let’s help Fan & Fred, who can’t lobby for themselves, and let’s show appreciation to the plaintiffs for all their efforts, by getting a weekly postcard campaign going to request their re-listing back onto the NYSE. This is the only way we can really have an impact. Instead of whining about them being on the bulletin board sewer, do something positive about it......and this is how.
Pre-stamped postcards are available at the post office for thirty-nine cents or you can write your note on a 4x6 index card and buy stamps to mail them for thirty-five cents.
Here is the message, to be sent every week (addresses listed below) until they are back on the NYSE:
Dear President Trump (and Kudlow, Mnuchin & Calabria),
*It’s time to get Fannie and Freddie out of conservatorship!
*It’s time to make housing in America great again!
*It’s time to get Fannie and Freddie re-listed on the NYSE, without any further delay!
Thank you!
I’ll post regular reminders to all of you to stay on top of this. Big thanks!
Note to all Fannie and Freddie employees: will you help out on this? We need duffel bag loads of postcards landing on their desks!!!
