I don't think this will hurt Trump unless the media spins a narrative that China released the virus deliberately in retaliation for Trump's trade policies towards China.
That will be a difficult balancing act vs. the liberal idea that China are the "good guys" in the trade war with the U.S.
If anything, this virus outbreak logically supports Trump's efforts for border security so a net political gain for Trump.
