LOL ; OK and as long as that gravestone don't have my name on it they can
call it what they want.. Short term ! well that's all I been trading for the
last 3 weeks..taht I held an extra short overnight Thursday was my mistake,
I've been just day trading and told myself a week ago , don't start holding
overnight..to bad I didn't listen to me.
----
I do have a core long holding ( hfcgx ) but it's hedged right now
with equal $ short on the SPY..
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ta?s=HFCGX&t=3m&l=off&z=m&q=l&p=e50,e20&a=fs,vm,r...
I would dump it , except for a 90 < day 1.5% short term trading change, so I hedged it.
I don't mind missing a little upside at this point , I see a chance of the market
going higher, but risk is high to, and I may not be looking when she
takes a dump.
----
I covered the QQQ on the 10:30 dip and got back short at 2pm..
I just don't think much of the divergence's I see..
RSI, MACD, and even the lows on the Stoch have been getting lower..
The Highs on the 18th of last month didn't suck the indicators
up enough to suite me, & that's why I got out of RSIFX and
hedged my other fund.
---
I made a little on the down side, then played the oversold bounce
but then missed this one..( maybe ) but up until Friday I've
been on a roll with the short term stuff.
--
I'm also still buying I-bonds..with my new money..
and only playing the stocks with old money.
almost 1/2 of which is profits made since last OCT..
--
The I bond basic rate will go down next month, so this
is likely the last month this year I'll buy them.
I don't know what the CPI will do to
the adjustable part , but my guess is it
will tick up, if not this time very likely next
time. Right now they are 4.66% ; not to bad for
rather short term money considering other
bond rates.
( note on I-bonds you must hold them 1 yr, if cashed
before 5yrs you lose the last 3 months of interest,
they are tax deferred for up to 30 ys..the rates adjust for
inflation twice a year.)
--
Some body may laugh at me being long bonds,
But I am over 66 and can't stand the risk like some
of the young pups.
