sometimes the money is in the form of porting assistance, discounts, support contracts at a favorable price.

I am more than awake and BTW - if you think it's a normal business practice, than it is for you. I have no opinion on your opinion. Just that sometimes the money is NOT in the form of porting assistance, discounts, support contracts at a favorable price.
