Stallergenes Greer, one of the world leaders in allergen immunotherapy (ITA), and Anergis, pioneer in research and development in ultra-fast ITA based on “Contiguous Overlapping Peptides *” (COP), announce today launched a new study to assess the effects of second-generation ITA based on COPs. This study, based on a therapeutic model of birch pollen allergy, aims to shorten the duration of treatment administration. This research collaboration combines the historic expertise of Stallergenes Greer in allergen immunotherapy, with the ultra-rapid ITA developed by Anergis and its partner Mymetics. This second generation of ITA is based on Anergis COPs and Mymetics virosomes (COP-virosomes technology). In 2018, Anergis and Mymetics announced that COP-virosomes were able to cause a strong TH1-oriented antibody response, without causing an IgE-like response. Stallergenes Greer will test these COP-virosomes as part of its therapeutic model for allergy to birch pollen.
