There is one thing in that that everyone needs to realize. The SEC never checks any filings to see if things are true. They don't have the manpower for that. The only thing they demand to be perfect is the header of the filing. Leave out something so small as the period at the end of Inc in the company name and they will reject the filing. The only time they check out filings is later when there may be issues with the company.
