Jim Lehrer, the long time PBS news anchor and writer, has passed at the age of 85.

I had the pleasure of working with him when I worked at the PBS station in Los Angeles. He came west to do a special story that he taped at the studio.

Among his accomplishments, he was a Marine Corps Captain, joining his father and older brother who also served in the Marines.
