Not ONLY did the commons outperform the preferreds in 2019, and, so far in 2020, but they likewise outperformed the preferreds in 2006, because the dividends were higher (2.40 vs 2.00) and the share price was consistently higher than the preferreds.

I wont comment "other than" 2006, 2019, and 2020 in part, because the most relevant is the most recent...which vastly favors the commons vs the preferreds.
