Health Canada is probably the slowest cog on the wheel in the Canadian Government outside of the Post Office.lol

They research, research and research again again over and over until they beat it to death about anything pertaining to health. Unlike like the FDA the standards or even drugs of any kind hitting the shelves are scrutinized beyond belief. That is not to say the FDA does not do it. It is just Health Canada is more rigorous about what goes on the shelf and what doesn't. The Pharm companies in the US have pushed drugs to the counter that would not pass Health Canada's rigorous inspection even to this day.
