Pattern in the TICK between today and yesterday look very similar except today is more positive, and yet we're not getting the same bang for the buck. They're really laboring just to maintain what we have.
-- Tuesday marks the last trading day of the month -- and the end to a streak of monthly gains for the major market gauges. The Nasdaq is down roughly 0.4 percent so far for September, on track to snap a seven-month winning streak. The S&P 500 is off about 0.7 percent and the Dow is down about 1.1 percent for the month. Both are on track to break a six-month string of gains.
