This is insane. The US just joined Russia to veto a UN Security Council resolution sponsored by our European allies — France, Germany, Belgium, the UK and Poland — condemning Turkey's invasion of Syria.

The Trump administration is joining Russia in vetoing a UN Security Council resolution condemning @realDonaldTrump’s dictator friend Erdogan’s ethnic cleansing of the Kurds in Syria.

US and Russia against the other permanent members. Let that sink in.

CLARIFICATION: it was a statement, not a resolution (thank you @baysontheroad).

However, the fact remains that the US is standing on the same side as Russia on this matter.
I hope you’ll forgive my late-night imprecise use of language.
