Republicans, You're Fucked

We’ve heard a lot in the past few months about how the Mueller report was too confusing for the average citizen to fully comprehend – and due to it’s complexity, was therefore of little impact or consequence.

Well, guess what? Your own “pResident” has simplified the whole process. He has now committed impeachable crimes in public, making it that much easier for the folks at home to play along! And if you’ve seen the polls, you know that more and more of them are joining the game.

So here are some tips for you as you circle the drain:

Every time your “pResident” refuses to acknowledge the legitimacy of the impeachment investigation, what the people hear is, “I’m guilty, and I have a lot to hide.”

Every time your “pResident” tells a witness not to testify, what the people hear is, ”There’s a shitload of corruption I need all of you to keep your mouths shut about.”

When you Republicans say, “We refuse to recognize the oversight of the House,” what the people hear is, ”Fuck you, Constitution, the rule of law, and the citizenry who still believe in those things.”

When you Republicans say, “We refuse to turn over documents,” what the people hear is, ”A lot of us are as guilty as Trump, and we’ve got to cover our own asses here, too.”

When you Republicans say, “We need not comply with subpoenas, because the ‘pResident’ hasn’t broken any laws,” what the people hear is, ”Trump decides what the law is, not you peasants.”

Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that nothing draws a crowd to an accident scene faster than a cop saying, “There’s nothing to see here” – and yet that’s what you Republicans have been saying for almost three years now. But thanks to your “pResident’s” own abject stupidity and arrogance – along with your own spineless enabling of his corruption – he has become so convinced of being above the law that he has now publicly confirmed his own criminal behaviour.

What you Republicans saw was your “pResident” standing strong against the accusations against him – what the people saw was your “pResident” shovng his middle finger in their faces. And what the world saw was a lying buffoon attempting to destroy our democracy, aided and abetted by an equally corrupt political party.

You’ve seen the polls. You know that one way or the other – by impeachment, by resignation, by defeat at the ballot box,, or by being dragged out of the White House in a straight-jacket – your “pResident” will be gone by January 2021. What you don’t seem to recognize is that your continued covering-up of his crimes means that a lot of you will be out of a job as well – if not facing worse consequences as your own complicity in those crimes is exposed.

Make no mistake. The people who are already aboard the impeachment train are staying put, and there are new passengers boarding that train every day. And every time you say, “There’s nothing you can do to us,” the people will be yelling, “Watch this!” in response.
