That has been my entire research career—trying to see and realize the promise of what we often term "regenerative medicine"—taking cells and replacing damaged or lost cells that have resulted in disease. The first place this is happening is in macular degeneration. There are now trials for Parkinson's disease, which is going to be amazing, and two or three trials are opening up for type 1 diabetes.
