No, while globalization is a factor, an economic disrupter, I'm going to place most of the blame on GOP economic orthodoxy that still promotes cut taxes and spend with predictable recessionary impact.

It's a triumph of hope over experience. And orthodoxy and hope are fine for church, not so much for economics.
