An interesting kowinkidink in this story is that the great Washington Mutual was brought into being on September 21, 1889. Now this business had grown and evolved over the many years until it was seized in Sept. 2008. If a business manages to stay afloat and turn a profit for 119 years, where were those profits invested? I am hoping we will soon see, and I have my doubts that it will amount to a paltry 50 million dollars. Maybe I am just an optimist. Perhaps the reveal will happen on September 26, 2019.
