As far as I know, Clinton never stirred racial tensions by calling certain demographics animals and rapists. He never spewed fear mongering rhetoric about immigrant invasions

You would be wrong there, as to Bill Clinton and Obama (during his first presidential campaign). Both took issue with the negative impact of immigrants pouring over our border.
