I believe we are talking about the same incident several years ago. The cops only had handguns and they ended up going into a gun store and grabbing what they could to return fire.

It still ended up being an intense fire fight all caught on camera.

I get the fact that cops screw up and they should be held accountable when they do. I still can;t figure out how hard it is to fire the NYC cop who choked to death the guy selling smokes.

On the same token people should not own more fire power than your average soldier would use in combat.
