I don't think PV runs NMKT to make a profit but rather to use it as income producing by selling related stocks. He probably does not want to be on a real exchange because it could reduce his income. The rules on a real market make manipulation more difficult. NMKT looks to be a shell that buys and sells "shell companies" making it look much better than it actually is.
